The Sadat Forum:
Panel Discussion on American Policy in the Middle East
on the 30th Anniversary of the Camp David Accords
4:00-6:00 p.m., Colony Ballroom, 2nd Floor, Stamp Student Union, UMCP

The Panel features General Brent Scowcroft, former National Security Advisor; William Quandt, Edward R. Stettinius Chair in the Dept. of Politics, University of Virginia, and former member of the National Security Council; and Ambassador Dennis Ross, Special Middle East Coordinator and Distinguished Fellow of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.  Panel Moderator will be Shibley Telhami, Anwar Sadat Professor for Peace and Development, University of Maryland.  The event is free and open to the public.

Iranian Jewry: From Past to Present

The conference will bring together an international group of scholars to consider the long and richly varied interactions and commingling of Iranian Jews and Muslims in the past and the present.  The conference is sponsored by The Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Center for Jewish Studies and The Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute Center for Persian Studies (University of Maryland, College Park), and by the Hebraic Section and Near East Section, African and Middle Eastern Division of the Library of Congress.
